Hamachi shows exclamation marks - what to do?

Hamachi is a popular software to simulate a virtual LAN network. For example, this can be the only way to play together with friends from a distance. However, the problem is annoying when Hamachi shows an exclamation mark.

Problem solution: exclamation mark is displayed in Hamachi

If you want to log in to a Hamachi server, but the client shows you an exclamation mark next to it, there is obviously a problem. Unfortunately, Hamachi usually doesn't give you an error message that can isolate the problem, so you'll have to do some tinkering yourself.
  • First, restart Hamachi. If this does not help, restart your PC. Many different problems will already be solved by this, so Hamachi will no longer show an exclamation mark.
  • Make sure you have the latest version of Hamachi installed on your computer.
  • Check if your firewall is set correctly. You may need to manually allow Hamachi to join the virtual LAN network through the server.
  • Possibly the servers of Hamachi are down. Then you can only wait.

Highest priority for Hamachi

Sometimes Hamachi shows an exclamation mark if it does not have the highest priority as a network. Dies ändern Sie in den Windows-Einstellungen:
  6. Klicken Sie auf „OK“ und starten Sie Hamachi neu. Bei Ihrem Server sollte Hamachi nun kein Ausrufezeichen zeigen.
