iTunes: Convert music to MP3 - here's how

In iTunes all your data is stored. Here you can not only store backups of your devices, but also store your entire media library. You access the music alternatively by navigating to the iTunes media folder. If you use a Mac, this works via the "Apple Music" app.

MP3 via Apple Music not possible

You can find the MP3 files of your music at the location of your iTunes library. Here you simply navigate through the different folders. The tracks are saved in MP3 format. Note, however, that this does not apply to those songs that you have purchased through Apple Music. This is for the simple reason that you are only acquiring these files temporarily. Apple would be making a big losing deal if you could permanently store the tracks from Apple Music on your PC.

How to convert your iTunes music to Mp3

1. Use Windows, open iTunes and click "Edit" > "Preferences" > "General" > "Import Settings" in the menu bar. On Mac, you can find this menu in the "Apple Music" app under "Music" > "Preferences". Then go to "Files" > "Import Settings".
2. Next to "Import with" click on the menu and then select "MP3". Bestätigen Sie über „Ok“.
3. Danach können Sie in der Mediathek die Musiktitel auswählen, die Sie umwandeln möchten.
4. Gehen Sie dann auf „Ablage“ > „Konvertieren“ > „MP3-Version erstellen“.
5. Die umgewandelten Titel finden Sie ebenfalls in Ihrer Mediathek unter dem entsprechenden Originaltitel.
