WhatsApp: free up memory - how to do it
WhatsApp is one of the most popular messengers and is used by millions of users today. By default, it saves all the videos, photos and files that are sent to you, which results in your memory filling up quickly. However, you can empty it again in a few simple steps.
How to free up the memory used by WhatsApp again?
You have two options to reclaim the memory space. Either you delete all the data that was sent to you, or you select which data you want to delete.- Open WhatsApp on your smartphone and go to the settings. In Android, you need to click on the three small dots in the top right corner. In iOS, just go to the settings icon.
- Here you now go to the item "Data and memory usage" and then further to "Memory usage".
- Now you see a list of your chats and what amount of memory they take. The chats are sorted by decreasing amount of memory. Once you have decided from which chat you want to delete the files, select it.
- On the individual view of the chat, you can once again see which data takes how much memory. Now click on "Manage messages" so that a selection appears in which you can specify which data should be deleted. Um das Löschen schließlich durchzuführen, tippen Sie auf „Nachrichten leeren“.
