Apple Watch WiFi - How to connect to WiFi

Your Apple Watch uses WiFi to communicate with your paired iPhone. To take full advantage of all the Apple Watch's features, both WiFi and Bluetooth must be turned on. Your WiFi network must meet a certain standard.

Apple Watch: These conditions must be met for a WiFi connection

If your iPhone is within Bluetooth range, the Apple Watch will always use Bluetooth to establish a connection between the two devices. If no connection can be established via Bluetooth, your Apple Watch can also connect to a compatible WiFi network. This network must fulfill one condition for this: The WiFi network must comply with the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz standard.

How to connect the Apple Watch to a WiFi network

To connect your Apple Watch to a nearby WiFi network, proceed as follows:
  1. Press the Digital Crown to go to the Home screen and open the Settings app.
  2. Tap here on "WLAN".
  3. Tap the WLAN network with which you want to connect.
  4. You can enter the password by drawing or using the keyboard. So you need the network key for your WiFi.
  5. Confirm the entry and wait a moment until the connection is established.
If you wish, you can navigate to the network again via the settings, tap it and set your Apple Watch to automatically connect to this network whenever it is in range.
