iPad Pro: Is it possible to change the battery?

Whether you can easily change the battery of your iPad Pro depends on which variant you have. While the large 12.9-inch model has a battery that is attached with adhesive strips that can be easily detached from the case, the battery on the small iPad Pro is permanently glued in place. To remove the battery on the small iPad Pro, you first have to heat the adhesive. However, there is a high risk that you will damage components of the device.

iPad Pro: Use Apple's repair service to change the battery

If you do not want to or cannot change the battery of your iPad Pro yourself, simply have Apple do the replacement. To do this, request a shipping box from Apple or make an appointment at an Apple Store.

1. Apple offers you the option to have the battery of your iPad Pro repaired or replaced. However, this will incur a battery service fee of 106.25 euros.
2. If your iPad Pro is still under warranty or you have an Apple Care+ contract for your device, on the other hand, there is no charge.
3. However, this only applies if the performance of the battery is only 80 percent or less.
