You can use your Apple HomePod as a speaker for your TV. However, this is only possible if you own an Apple TV device. To do this, you need the fourth-generation extension. With older devices it is not possible to connect to the Apple HomePod.

Connecting the Apple HomePod to a TV

You can connect the Apple HomePod smart speaker to various devices and then control the volume from your iPhone or iPad. It is also possible to connect a TV to the HomePod and thus control the TV's sound via your mobile devices. With the HomePod, however, this is only feasible if you have the Apple TV extension. This must belong to at least the fourth generation. Older models do not yet offer the necessary software and hardware to play sound via the Apple HomePod. So stellen Sie eine Verbindung her

1. Verbinden Sie Ihren HomePod und Ihren AppleTV mit demselben WLAN.
2. Öffnen Sie die Einstellungen Ihres Apple-TVs.
3. Wählen Sie „Video und Audio“.
4. Gehen Sie zu „Audioausgabe“ und dann zu „Andere Geräte“.
5. Wählen Sie Ihren HomePod aus.
6. Sie sehen Ihren HomePod nun als Erweiterung Ihres AppleTV und können die Lautstärke mithilfe des HomePods steuern.
