folder is about. It stores all the files needed to install Windows 10. Since the folder can become very large, up to 6 GB, and take up important disk space on your computer, it is recommended that you delete the $Windows.~BT folder. However, since it is a hidden folder, you need to show it first. You can do this in Windows 10 by clicking "View" at the top of Explorer, navigating to "Options" > "View" and checking the "Show hidden files, folders and drives" option. How to delete the $Windows.~BT folder from your PC
Even if you have shown the $Windows.~BT folder as described above, it cannot be deleted simply by moving the folder to the Trash. Instead, a detour via Disk Cleanup is necessary.- To open this, first press the key combination of "Windows key" + "R" and execute the command "cleanmgr.exe" in the Run dialog.
- In the window that opens, then select the drive "C" and confirm with "OK" so that the tool scans the computer.
- In the next window, place a check mark next to "Temporary Windows installation files" and confirm again with "OK".
- Finally confirm your selection with "Delete files" so that the folder $Windows.~BT is removed from your PC.
