Valheim: Collecting feathers - these options are available

Feathers are one of the items you can get very early in the game, but at the same time they will always play an important role. Our guide explains what options are available.

Without feathers, no arrows: Ranged fighters should always watch out for birds in the area.

As different as the arrows you can make for the various bows in Valheim are, one obvious commonality is that feathers are always needed.

Valheim: How to get feathers

For feathers, the following methods are available in Valheim:

• The best source for feathers is birds. You get three feathers for each bird you kill. The easiest way is to hunt by bow, alternatively, close combat in stealth mode is also possible.
• Also, you occasionally get a feather when cutting birch trees. Here, however, the quota is much lower.
• In the treasure chests that you find in the wilderness as well as in burial chambers, feathers can also be present.

Since ranged combat with bow and arrow in Valheim is a very effective means, you should always have enough feathers in stock. Of the three options mentioned, hunting seagulls on your own is by far the most reliable option; therefore, it is advisable to always keep your eyes open and take advantage of every opportunity as soon as you see a bird.
