How to create a group in Microsoft Teams

With Microsoft's popular teleconferencing tool, you can create new groups in no time:
  1. Open the app, click on the "Teams" icon, and there click on "Join or create a team."
  2. Now select "Create a team" and then "Create a team entirely."
  3. Now select the type of team: "private" for restricted access of certain people or "public" for unrestricted access within an organization.
  4. Then enter the name of the team and an optional description.
  5. Click "Create" to complete the process.

How to add new members to a Microsoft Teams group

In the free version of Teams you can add up to 300 people, in the full version up to 5,000.
  1. Als Teambesitzer klicken Sie auf den Teamnamen, dort auf „weitere Optionen“ und innerhalb des Menüs auf „Mitglied hinzufügen“.
  2. Geben Sie Namen, Verteilerlisten und optional auch E-Mail-Adressen von Personen außerhalb der Organisation an und klicken Sie auf „Hinzufügen“.
