Zoom: Record a conversation - here's how to do it

The Zoom application allows you to participate in meetings and video conferences, for example, in your home office, so you can communicate with colleagues and business partners. To do this, you can also share the screen to show presentations or record the screen.

How to record a conversation in Zoom

To watch a meeting or conference again later, you can record it in Zoom. In order for you to use the function, it must be enabled in advance by the administrator in the settings. There, the slider for "Local recording" can be set to active, so that all participants have the option to record the conference and save it to a specific file.

1. Either the host is now able to record the meeting or any participant can pursue this option.
2. For this, log in to Zoom and either start a meeting or join one.
3. Then click on the "Record" option.
4. Thereupon you can select "Record on this computer" or ignore this step.
5. The host will now see the corresponding icon on the screen that the conversation is being recorded. Aber auch Teilnehmer erhalten eine Information.
6. Im Menü „Teilnehmer“ lässt sich zudem auch erkennen, wer dieses Meeting aufzeichnet.
7. Ist das Meeting beendet, bekommen Sie eine Nachricht mit dem Wortlaut „Sie haben eine Aufzeichnung, die vor Ansicht konvertiert werden muss“. Nun müssen Sie sich kurz gedulden, bis der Konvertierungsvorgang beendet ist.
8. Anschließend öffnet sich automatisch der Ordner, der die entsprechende Datei enthält.
