Change Google Chromecast WLAN: How to do it

If you encounter the problem that your router connected to Chromecast stops working or you just want to connect your Chromecast to another WLAN access point, you can change it using your smartphone.

How to change your Chromecast WLAN on Android

Make sure your Google Chromecast and your smartphone with the Google Home app is turned on and connected to the device. Then proceed like this:

1. Open the Google Home app in the menu on your smartphone.
2. Click "Devices" in the top right corner.
3. You can now see your Google devices. From the device you want to change, tap on the device card menu.
4. Tap on "Settings > WLAN".
5. Remove the device by "Remove > Remove network".
6. Go back and set up your Google device in a new WLAN network. To do this, simply tap on the Plus icon on the home page of the Google Home app. Then follow the instructions.

On iOS devices Chromecast WLAN change

If you use an iPhone or iPad, the procedure differs slightly:

1. Open the Google Home app in the menu on your smartphone.
2. Click on "Devices" in the upper right corner.
3. You can now see your Google devices. Tippen Sie von dem zu ändernden Gerät auf das Gerätekartenmenü.
4. Tippen Sie auf „Dieses Netzwerk löschen > WLAN löschen“.
5. Entfernen Sie das Gerät durch „Entfernen > Netzwerk entfernen“.
6. Gehen Sie zurück und richten Sie Ihr Google-Gerät in einem neuen WLAN Netzwerk ein.
