Half-Life Alyx VR: All info on the new Valve game

The wait for a possible Half-Life 3 is a never-ending story. With Half-Life Alyx VR, there is now at least an announcement that revives the legendary franchise. We summarize what is known.

Oversized Half-Life atmosphere: Alyx will be a pure VR game.

Half-Life originates from Valve, which also operates Steam, the world's largest gaming platform. Consequently, Alyx VR can only be purchased there; pre-ordering is already possible.

Half-Life Alyx VR: A prequel to Half-Life 3?

Valve's return to the Half-Life series will offer the following features:

• Alyx takes place chronologically between the first two Half-Life titles.
• You take on the role of Alyx Vance and must fight an alien threat.
• Typical of Half-Life, the game will be a first-person shooter, but will also focus on puzzles and exploration.
• Alyx will be a VR-only game. Equipment such as Oculus Rift or HTC Vive must therefore be available.
• Whoever owns Valve Index VR, even gets the game for free.
• Since Alyx is fully designed for VR, the immersion will be all the higher for it. The already dense Half-Life atmosphere should thus reach a whole new level.
