Disconnect the device from both the TV and the power and wait a few minutes before reconnecting.
- Alternatively, put the remote into pairing mode by pressing the select button for five seconds. Then press the Select and Play buttons for five seconds to restart the Fire TV.
- If this doesn't help, reset the remote to factory settings. To do this, press and hold the Left, Menu and Back buttons simultaneously for ten seconds. Then wait about 60 seconds and then remove the batteries.
- Now disconnect your Fire TV device from the power and wait another 60 seconds. Press the home button on the remote for another 40 seconds and then wait another 60 seconds.
- If you can not solve the problem you also have the option to use the Fire TV remote app to control your device until the error is fixed.
