Connecting speakers - this is how easy it is

When you want to connect a box or speaker, it may not work right on the first try. Drivers may be missing or the settings within Windows may be preventing the speaker from working correctly. Usually, changing the settings can help.

How to connect your speakers

Whether on your PC, laptop or TV, connecting speakers can turn your desk or living room into a concert hall or home theater. In most cases, you simply plug the cables into the appropriate jacks and the sound comes briskly and all by itself. If this doesn't work, check that the jack plug isn't accidentally plugged into the jack for the microphone. In any case, also check that no control (system, player/program, speaker) is set to mute.

Check Windows settings for errors

  1. Click on the small arrow pointing upwards at the bottom right of the Windows taskbar.
  2. Now make a right click on the speaker icon and go to the sound settings.
  3. Go on to "Device Properties" and select "Additional Device Properties" on the right.
  4. Search for the speaker you want to connect in the listing.
  5. Set the corresponding speaker "As Default". Mit Rechtsklick auf den Lautsprecher können Sie die Wiedergabe „Testen“. Klicken Sie danach auf „Übernehmen“ und „OK“.
  6. Nun sollte mit dem Anschließen der Lautsprecher als richtiges Wiedergabegerät alles funktionieren.
