Convert speech to text - how it works

With the appropriate software, you can conveniently use your recorded voice to automatically generate text from your words. In many cases, this is not only a very convenient form of communication, but it can also be useful in many ways for people with limitations.

Converting speech to text: It works with this software

Dictation programs are plentiful. In this example, Microsoft Dictate is presented, because the software additionally supports functions for translation.

1. The link will take you to the free download of the software.
2. Download the program and install it on your computer.
3. Once the installation is complete, you can, as usual, open Word.
4. In the top bar you will now find the new option "Dictation".
5. By clicking on the tab, a new icon and an associated button appear.
6. Indicate the language "German" and then click "Start".
7. Of course you need a microphone, with which you can now make a voice input.

How it works on the smartphone

1. Unfortunately, smartphones with Android and iOS automatically have a corresponding app pre-installed.
