Nano SIM card - all info on the small card

The Nano SIM card, introduced in 2012, is the smallest of the SIM cards.

• With dimensions of 12.3 x 8.8 x 0.67 mm, the card is about 40 percent smaller than the next largest Micro SIM card and 12 percent thinner than previous card types.
• Thanks to appropriate adapters, you can also insert the Nano SIM card into larger card slots.
• The first compatible devices were in 2012, for example, the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3.

If you have, for example, a Micro SIM card, but need a Nano SIM card for your smartphone, you can cut the mobile card itself. However, there is a risk that the chip is damaged, even with the help of a template and the appropriate tool. Mobile phone providers therefore advise against doing it yourself.

Other SIM formats at a glance
