PayPal: Cancel limit - how it works

For security reasons, your PayPal account has a limit by default. This already exists when you open the account, as only certain information about you is required. However, it is possible to remove the limit by adding more information to your account.

Your PayPal limit is for security, but can be lifted at any time.

What do I need to receive payment from PayPal?

To be able to receive a payment via PayPal, you only need an account with the payment provider. The account can be opened free of charge and also causes no ongoing costs. Only companies pay a small fee when they receive payments via PayPal for goods or services. As a private user, you may only incur a fee if the currency needs to be converted.In order for you to receive your money, you create an account with PayPal. Initially, there is an account limit for sending, receiving and debiting transactions. However, you can lift this with additional information about yourself.

How to lift your PayPal limit

1. First go to the PayPal website and log in with your login details.
2. Then click on the gear icon at the top right to open the settings for your profile.
3. Now click on "Payments" at the top of the selection. Hier können Sie weiter unten Ihr Bankkonto angeben. Wahlweise können Sie auch eine Kreditkarte hinzufügen.
4. Haben Sie anschließend Ihr Bankkonto bestätigt, wird das Limit Ihres Kontos aufgehoben.
