Qwant Junior: We explain the safe search engine for kids

The alternative search engine Qwant originates from France and is not completely unknown in Germany. The variant for children is worth a special look. Our guide introduces Qwant Junior.

Safe is safe: Qwant Junior simply filters out unsuitable results.

We presented the Qwant search engine in detail in this article. What follows is a look at the Junior variant.

This is Qwant Junior

The size and openness of today's Internet ensures certain risks. These apply specifically to minors, and that's where Qwant Junior comes in.
  • You can find Qwant Junior at qwantjunior.com.
  • The underlying technology is the same as Qwant, but the children's variant screens out all adult results. These are divided into four categories, namely violence, drugs, hate and pornography.
  • This results in a black list and a white list. The latter includes search results that have an educational character.
  • Qwant Junior does not collect personal data. Tracking is therefore not possible.
You can consequently let your offspring browse carefree. Since the Qwant Junior homepage also includes other areas such as news in addition to the search input, children can easily find new (suitable) content.
