Mac keychain - what you should know

Not everyone can always remember all their passwords used for different websites. As a result, the same passwords are used over and over again or passwords that are too easy. With Mac Keychain, you can generate strong passwords and save them.

How exactly does Mac Keychain work?

Since iCloud Keychain came out, Mac Keychain is even more convenient. With it, your passwords can be used on any device and don't need to be specially transferred from one to the other. In doing so, all credentials are shared with all your devices via the cloud.

1. If you want to save specific credentials in Mac Keychain, first go to the website from which you want to save your credentials. Log in. A window will automatically appear asking if you want to save the data.
2. Click "Save Password" to have the credentials saved.
3. Now, if you want to reuse them the next time you log in, just click the empty "Username" field and you will be asked if you want to use the saved login data.
