Before you use AirPods for the first time, it is necessary to activate them. How to do this correctly depends on the device with which you want to use the Bluetooth headphones. If it is an iPhone, please proceed as follows to activate the headphones:

1. Go to the home screen of your iPhone and open the case in which the AirPods are located.
2. Now hold the case as close as possible to the iPhone, so that an animation for setting up the headphones appears on its screen.

Other ways to activate the AirPods

If you want to activate your AirPods for sharing with a non-Apple device, such as an Android smartphone, this is also possible. To do this, navigate to "Settings" > "Connections" > "Bluetooth" on the Android smartphone and make sure the feature is enabled. Then open the AirPods charging case and press the setup button on it until the status indicator lights up white.
