Uninstalling printer drivers - these options are available

If you have bought a new printer or if an error occurs while printing, it may be useful to uninstall the driver. Then you can download a new driver. To avoid errors, it is necessary to completely remove the software from your system.

How to uninstall your printer driver

If you are having problems with your printer, it may help to completely uninstall the device's driver and then reinstall it. Before you start uninstalling the driver, disconnect the device from your computer. After that, you can remove the software.

1. Click the Windows icon in the bottom left corner. Then select the gear icon to open the "Settings".
2. Here you now click on the "Devices" item. On the left side you will also see more sections, select "Printers & Scanner".
3. On the right side you will see all printers installed on the device. Select the appropriate printer and click the "Remove Device" button.
4. Now to uninstall the driver, press the key combination "Windows key" + "R" on the desktop. Geben Sie in das Feld „printmanagement.msc“ ein und betätigen Sie die Enter-Taste oder drücken Sie „OK“.
