Surface Pro 6: External monitor - expand the display

If you want to expand the display of your Surface Pro 6 or move to a larger monitor for another reason, you have the option of connecting an external monitor. The Surface provides you with the appropriate ports for this. However, it may be necessary to buy an additional adapter.

How to use an external monitor on the Surface Pro 6

With an external monitor, you can enlarge or extend the display to your liking. The Surface Pro 6 offers a Mini DisplayPort for this purpose, which allows you to connect an external monitor to the device. There are many screens to choose from here. However, please note that an additional adapter is necessary due to the different connections. Depending on the selected screen, you will need a mini DisplayPort to HDMI or to VGA. Then you only need to set the display.
  1. Once you have connected the screen, swipe from the right edge of the device to the center of the display.
  2. Now various menu items open. Wählen Sie hier den Punkt „Projizieren“ aus.
