WoW Shadowlands: These are the system requirements

Relatively low hardware requirements have always been a reason for the success of World of Warcraft. We therefore clarify what the system requirements of Shadowlands look like.

Quantum leap: For Shadowlands, WoW demands very modern requirements for the first time.

Shadowlands will be released in 2020, a full 16 years after the release of the vanilla main game. In that span of time, gaming technology has evolved massively, but WoW is known for going at its own pace.

WoW Shadowlands: System Requirements Check

The system requirements for Shadowlands can already be found on the web, although changes are still possible until release. The minimum requirements are:
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-3450 / AMD FX 8300
  • Graphics card: GeForce GTX 760 / AMD Radeon RX 560
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
Recommended:
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K / AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 / AMD Radeon RX Vega 64
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
It is also worth mentioning that an SSD is recommended even with the minimum requirements - 100 GB should be available there. Overall, it is noticeable that very modern, powerful models are definitely required, especially for the graphics card - compared to the system requirements of Legion and Battle for Azeroth (2018), the jump is very large. This is probably also due to the fact that more and more players own a monitor with 1440p or even 4K resolution. For 1080p displays, which are still the norm, much weaker hardware should suffice because of that.
