Microsoft Teams: insert a picture - here's how

Teams is a Microsoft application for video conferencing, chatting and data sharing that is becoming an increasingly popular way to communicate, especially in the age of the home office. Adding an image to your profile or sending a photo via the chat feature takes just a few clicks in Teams.

How to add a new image to your Microsoft Teams profile

One of the basic features of Teams is adding an image to your profile:
  1. Open Teams and click on the round "Profile icon" at the top right of the screen.
  2. Under your name, click on the "Change Image" option.
  3. Then select an image file and set it as your profile picture.
  4. However, the profile picture change option on Teams can be disabled by your organization's system administrator, so changing the profile picture is not possible.

How to add a picture to a Microsoft Teams chat

Uploading files, such as a photo, is also a snap on Teams. In a chat, simply click the "paperclip icon" below the message window and select an image file from your computer or OneDrive. Alternatively, you can also insert an image directly into a Teams chat using the drag & drop function. To do this, click on the image and drag it into the chat window while holding down the left mouse button.
