Windows Live Mail: Restore Mail

Once you move to a new system or plan to remove Windows Live Mail from your computer, all your data will be lost. In order for you to continue using your previously created files and received emails when you move, they must be saved beforehand and restored afterwards.

To recover files in Windows Live Mail, you need an exported format from Windows Live Mail beforehand that can be read by the software.

1. To do this, start Windows Live Mail on your computer and click "File" in the top menu bar.
2. Select "Import Messages" from the menu that pops up.
3. Select "Windows Live Mail" as the format and then click "Next".
4. Navigate to the path on your computer where you stored the file.
5. Now you get the option to select which message folders you want to import into the program. Click on "All folders" so that you do not omit any message.
6. By clicking on "Next" again, you start the process. After a few minutes, the transfer is complete.

1. Damit Sie Ihre Daten widerherstellen können, brauchen Sie zunächst etwas zum Importieren.
2. Sie können eine Sicherung Ihrer Mails anlegen, indem Sie auf „Datei“ klicken und anschließend auf „E-Mail exportieren“ und „E-Mails“.
3. Nun müssen Sie nur einen Speicherort aussuchen und können mit dem Export beginnen.
