iTunes: Apps are not displayed - What now?

Users who have not worked with iTunes for a while are often the first to notice: Apps no longer show up in iTunes. Since the functionality of the software has been changed, the iOS apps can now be found elsewhere.

Apple has removed numerous functions of the all-rounder with iTunes version 12.7 because the program is to be streamlined. Managing apps on synced iOS devices is no longer possible with the new iTunes interface.

Why Apple no longer shows your apps in iTunes

iTunes has existed as a management program for a very long time. But in recent years, Apple released more and more mobile devices, such as the iPhone, the iPad or the Apple Watch, which made the management in iTunes more and more complex. Now the manufacturer wants to streamline its management software and therefore limits the functions.

How can apps be managed in iTunes now?

Apps are no longer displayed in iTunes. Instead, use the software for other options. Application you now manage directly in the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.

1. Once downloaded, apps can be downloaded from the App Store directly to your Apple devices over and over again. A backup on the PC is not necessary.
2. Complete backups of your mobile device are still stored on iTunes and can be easily downloaded to your iPhone or iPad if necessary. Alternatively, however, the backups can also be created wirelessly via iCloud.
3. The version 12.6.3 of iTunes is still available for download, according to Apple. So if you are not at all happy with the changes brought about by the new update, you can downgrade your management program at any time.
