Using Google Maps offline - how to always find your way
In this day and age when everyone has a smartphone in their pocket, navigating with a paper map is a thing of the past. But if you don't have an internet connection, then this can become a problem. So we'll show you how to use Google Maps offline.

If you want to use Google Maps offline, it is possible in a few steps.- In advance, it is important that you have a stable Internet connection or WLAN when planning the necessary maps. Because this makes downloading the maps much easier and speeds up the process.
- Open Google Maps on your smartphone and enter the desired location. Then tap on the name of the city to open the additional options.
- You will now find several options from which you select "Download". In the Google Maps app, click on the three-dot menu in the top right corner and then click on "Download Offline Map". Confirm the selection and Google Maps will download the desired map.
- If you want to use the map, you need to open Google Maps as usual and click on the three dashes located next to the search bar.
- There you will find at the sub-item "Offline Maps" all the maps that you have downloaded. Click on it and the maps will open. You can now navigate as usual.
