Windows 10: Adjust brightness - how to do it

The brightness plays an important role for the visual perception on the monitor. Depending on the time of day and lighting conditions, you may need to change the brightness. On laptops, you can usually change the brightness directly using keyboard shortcuts.

The right brightness is an important factor for the eyes.

Windows 10: Adjust brightness in a few steps

If you want to change the brightness of your display directly through Windows 10, then you have two options. You can adjust the brightness directly via the Info Center. To do this, click on the speech bubble icon at the bottom right. At the very bottom, you can adjust the brightness via a slider. If you don't see the slider, click the "Expand" button to show it. Alternatively, you can also adjust the brightness via the settings.
  1. Open the "Windows Settings" with the key combination "Win" + "I".
  2. Select "System" and there "Screen".
  3. Move the slider at "Brightness Level" until the desired brightness is reached.
  4. Click "Apply" below.
Keep in mind that the right brightness is also important for the health of the eyes. If you spend many hours a day at the computer, it is even more important. A suitably adjusted brightness is not so strenuous for the eyes and brain - and that also affects concentration and productivity.
