Excel: Fix windows - here's how to turn it on

With larger tables, you quickly get into the predicament of having to scroll for a long time to get to the area you want, but need information from an upper cell. To put an end to the constant scrolling back and forth, you can fix various areas.

Excel: Freeze window - here's how to do it

To avoid having to scroll back to the title bar all the time, Excel gives you the option to freeze the first row, making it immobile.
  1. First, open the table where you need to perform an edit.
  2. Now click on the first row by clicking on the entry with the index number on the left.
  3. Now switch to the "View" tab and navigate to the right to "Freeze window".
  4. Clicking on the menu shows more options, from which you now select "Freeze top row".
  5. Alternatively, you can also select multiple windows and then select the "Freeze window" option, which will freeze all selected.

How to freeze columns

  1. Mark the column that is directly next to the column that should be fixed.
