E-Scooter range - what you need to know about it
In Germany, more and more e-scooters are coming into use. But before you are allowed to ride them on the roads, you need to follow some rules and laws. Since the e-scooter runs on a battery, you need to charge the vehicle regularly. Therefore, the range is also limited when riding the scooter.
This is the range of an e-scooter
Since e-scooters have a small battery and are usually light and simply built, their range is not very long. However, in general, this is also not necessary, since the scooter is designed only for short distances.- The largest companies for e-scooters for rent are Lime and Bird. Of these companies are already some scooters in major German cities.
- A Lime Scooter has a range of 32 km when fully charged, and a Bird Scooter about 20 km.
- In this range are also mostly the scooters that you can buy privately. These usually come to a range of about 30 km.
- In the more expensive models, which are more like a scooter, the range can even be 68 km. However, these models also cost 5,000 to 6,000 euros.
- According to new laws, however, the scooters may no longer be driven simply like that. Sie müssen mit Blinkern und Bremsen ausgestattet sein. Des Weiteren wird eine Versicherungsplakette notwendig, damit der Roller zugelassen wird.
