After Xiaomi, now also OnePlus is indicated as a company that would have chosen to equip its high-end smartphones with lenses produced by Swedish Hasselblad.
Waiting for the official presentation that - although still unconfirmed - could arrive already in the coming weeks, the profile of the new OnePlus 9 Pro becomes more and more concrete. According to leaks on the network, to make the difference in the successor to the OnePlus 8 Pro will be the camera with optics Hasselblad, one of the most authoritative names in the industry worldwide.
To launch the video of what should be the prototype of the new model produced by OnePlus was the YouTuber Dave 2D. From the images, what is immediately noticeable is the photographic compartment on the back of the smartphone, just where the signature of the Swedish manufacturer is reported. For Hasselblad, and more generally for the top names in photography, this is not the first collaboration with the world of smartphones: previously the manufacturer had collaborated with Motorola, making the lenses for the Moto Z3 model. Looking back to the past, even Nokia has aimed high with Carl Zeiss lenses, up to Huawei and Leica, a partnership continued until the P40 series released last March. What's even more interesting, however, is that the name of Hasselblad for the optics of a smartphone, just a few days ago, had already been associated with another smartphone manufacturer: Xiaomi.
OnePlus 9 Pro, the likely technical characteristics
Just on the camera, detail increasingly leading in the world of smartphones, some interesting details emerge from the video. On the back of the OnePlus 9 Pro there would be a module of four sensors, consisting of two larger lenses positioned vertically that overlay two other, smaller, side by side. Added to this is the dual flash and a likely laser system for focusing. Throwing an eye to the interface of the camera, we see the Tilt-Shift function, another implementation that could be particularly welcome by users.
Another detail shown in the video of Dave 2D is that relating to the design. In the images the display, which according to the video can take advantage of a dual FHD+ and QHD+ setting, appears curved on the sides. The same curve also appears on the rear frame, with a slight groove in correspondence of the buttons on the right side, probably to allow a more practical use and give the device a better grip. On the bottom, we note instead the USB Type-C port and the slot for the SIM card.
Nothing instead is evincible on the SoC, while the only purely technical information shown by the screenshots relate to the internal memory, 256 GB, and RAM that is 11 GB but that, in the final stage, will touch the more canonical cut 12 GB.
OnePlus 9 Pro, price and release date
If on the presentation date we will have to wait for the next few weeks, there are no useful data to start making the first accounts in OnePlus' pocket. Certainly, it wouldn't be surprising if the addition of Hasselblad lenses would raise the price of OnePlus 9 compared to its predecessors; in fact, the Swedish company is not among the cheapest on the market, thanks in part to first-class products that know how to satisfy customers.
