Redmi Note 8, the first smartphone with 64 Megapixel camera

The Redmi Note 8 is expected to have as many as 4 cameras including a 64 Megapixel sensor. On board an octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of memory

Redmi, a Chinese company owned by Xiaomi, is ready to launch a new low-cost smartphone very interesting: the Note 8. To make the announcement is directly the CEO of the company on his Weibo account, the most popular social network in China, publishing a post with some features of the device: it will have a longer battery life, the bezels of the smartphone will be reduced and the images taken will be better.

The latter aspect is the most interesting: the Note 8 should be among the first devices to mount the new 64-megapixel photo sensor made by Samsung. A real "war" to the sound of Megapixels that is being disputed between the smartphone manufacturers. In just a few months we have gone from sensors with a maximum of 20 Megapixels, to lenses with 64 Megapixels. And for the end of the year is expected the first 108 Megapixel camera.

The Redmi Note 8 will be a mid-range smartphone characterized by a very interesting technical card. On board should be an octa-core processor supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device should make its debut on August 29 in China and the arrival in Europe is scheduled for this winter.

The Redmi Note 8

The Redmi Note 7's spec sheet came out at the beginning of the year and was immediately appreciated in Italy for its excellent value for money. The Chinese company, however, did not sit on its laurels and continued to work on making a new device even more perforating. The Redmi Note 8 is expected soon and from the rumors that have come out so far it seems to promise very well. On board should be a Snapdragon 6xx series processor supported by at least 4-6GB of RAM and 64-128GB of internal storage. The screen will be 6.2 inches with FullHD+ resolution. Redmi's CEO assured that the thickness of the bezels will be even smaller to leave more space for the display and optimize the size of the device.

The photo compartment is the most interesting part in the smartphone. Some images posted on Weibo have made official the presence of a 64 Megapixel sensor supported by artificial intelligence to improve image quality. Moreover, the Note 8 is expected to have as many as four photo sensors: in addition to the 64-megapixel one, there will be room for a telephoto lens, a wide-angle camera and a ToF sensor for depth of field.

Following the words of Xiaomi's CEO, the battery life of the Redmi Note 8 will be better than that of its predecessor. The Redmi Note 7 mounted a 4000mAh battery, so it's to be expected that the Note 8 will have a bigger battery (5000mAh?). The fingerprint reader is expected to be placed under the display.

When the Redmi Note 8 comes out

Redmi has planned an event for August 29. The headliner is expected to be the first smart TV produced by the Chinese company, but there might be room for the Redmi Note 8 as well. It's hard to make predictions regarding the release on the Italian market: most likely we'll have to wait until next autumn.
