The new chipset from Qualcomm will be officially presented at CES in Las Vegas, but some images already reveal its technical features
Along with MediaTek is one of the leading companies in the field of chipsets for smartphones. We are talking about Qualcomm, the San Diego-based company that thanks to the Snapdragon SoC controls a large slice of the mobile device market. At CES 2017, Qualcomm is ready to present the new Snapdragon 835, made with the support of Samsung.
A few days before the official presentation, some leaked images online show the technical characteristics of the new Qualcomm chipset. After the manufacturing problems of the Snapdragon 810, the company is called to give continuity to the excellent work done with the development of the Snapdragon 820 and Snapdragon 821. From the slides posted online, the Snapdragon 835 is expected to use a 10-nanometer Kyrio 280 architecture, which made the chipset much smaller than before, but at the same time more powerful.
How the Snapdragon 835 is made
According to what the San Diego-based company leaked, the Snapdragon 835 will be 50% more powerful than the Snapdragon 801, but thanks to the new architecture there should be improvements in battery life as well: with the new technology supported by the chipset, smartphones should get through the day even after intensive use. The SoC is formed by two quad-core processors: one with 2.45 GHz of power, the other with 1.9 GHz. In addition, the chipset will be formed by the Adreno 540 GPU that will provide 25% more performance than the previous model. Thanks to its small size, the chipset will allow manufacturers to make smartphones with smaller dimensions
