Probably, given the excellent price/features ratio, Xiaomi does not exaggerate but, more generally, the Mi 10i confirms that in 2021 we have to deeply revise our idea of mid-range smartphone: most of the features that last year we could only find in the most expensive top of the range devices, in fact, are now offered by Xiaomi at prices unthinkable until a few months ago. The new top of the range Xiaomi Mi 11, on the other hand, in China is sold from 500 euros.
Xiaomi Mi 10i: technical specifications
The new Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G revolves around the SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G, flanked by 6/8 GB of RAM and 64/128 GB of storage memory. The 750G offers more than enough power for most apps out there, thanks to its two 2.2 GHz Kryo 570 cores and six 1.8 GHz Kryo 570 cores.
Very good screen specs too, a 6.67-inch IPS LCD, HDR10, with 1,080×2,400 pixel resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The only flaw of this screen is that it is not very bright: 450 nits typical.
The choice of LCD technology has prevented the placement of the fingerprint sensor under the screen which, for this, has been inserted into the side of the Xiaomi Mi 10i's shell.
The 4 rear cameras, on the other hand, are top-of-the-line: the main one is a 108 MegaPixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright HM2 sensor, then there's an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle, a 2 MP macro and a 2 MP depth sensor. The front selfie camera is 16 MP.
The battery is also good, 4,820 mAh and fast charging at 33 Watts. Xiaomi says it charges 100% in less than an hour, but lacks wireless charging.
Xiaomi Mi 10i: how much does it cost and when does it arrive
The new Xiaomi Mi 10i will go on sale starting January 7 in India (where it is also manufactured: the "i" stands for India) at a price of 20.999 rupees (234 euros) for the 6/64 GB version, 21,999 rupees (245 euros) for the 6/128 GB and 23,999 rupees (268 euros) for the 8/128 GB.
There is no news yet on the marketing of this device outside India, where Xiaomi might also choose to sell this device under the Redmi brand.
