Xiaomi Mi 9, three rear cameras and 5G network support

The Xiaomi Mi 8 is expected in early 2019: it will mount the Snapdragon 855 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. 3300mAh battery

The Xiaomi Mi 9 will be the first top of the range that the Chinese company will launch on the market in 2019. By now, Xiaomi has become a reference point for Italian users as well, thanks to the opening of no less than four physical stores in Italy and the possibility to buy smartphones on e-commerce sites as well. The Mi 9 is one of the most anticipated devices in 2019, a year that promises to be very interesting for the world of telephony. Huawei and Samsung are ready to revolutionize the design of their smartphones and Xiaomi does not want to be found unprepared.

According to rumors released in recent weeks, the Xiaomi Mi 9 will have three rear cameras, a standard for top of the range smartphones coming out next year. But that's not all. The device should have a very small notch (probably "teardrop")  and support 5G connection thanks to routers made by Qualcomm. If the anticipations will be confirmed, the Xiaomi Mi 9 will certainly be a very interesting smartphone, thanks also to the very aggressive pricing policy carried out in recent years by the Chinese company.

Features Xiaomi Mi 9

A smartphone that is not afraid to surprise. The Xiaomi Mi 9 will have characteristics of a true top of the range capable of competing on equal terms with the Galaxy S10 and the Huawei P30 Pro. The device will mount the Snapdragon 855 supported by 6/8/10GB of RAM and 128/256/512GB of internal storage, depending on the model chosen. The screen will have a 6.4-inch diagonal with a FullHD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The design will be innovative with a notch smaller in size and "teardrop" shaped. As anticipated, there will be as many as three cameras in the back: the main one will be 48 Megapixel, while the secondary one will be 20 Megapixel. On the third lens there are still doubts, it could be a ToF (Time of Flight) sensor that collects information on the depth of field and improves the quality of images taken. The front camera will be 24 Megapixel and will help to recognize the face to unlock the smartphone. There will also be an under-screen fingerprint sensor, a standard for all top-of-the-line smartphones.

The other new feature of the Xiaomi Mi 9 will be support for 5G, the superfast network that will become reality throughout Europe from 2020. To top it off, the 3300mAh battery is expected to guarantee a battery life of at least one day.

When will the Xiaomi Mi 9 be released

The Xiaomi Mi 8 was launched in May 2018 and probably in May 2019 we will see the presentation of the Xiaomi Mi 9. But for the arrival on the Italian market we will have to wait a few more weeks.

How much will the Xiaomi Mi 9 cost

On the launch price of the Xiaomi Mi 9 still there is not much information available, but it is possible to speculate by seeing the price of the previous model. At the moment, the Xiaomi Mi 8 can be bought for around 400 euros: the Mi 9 will probably be launched at just over 500 euros.
