It is not a feature that will disrupt the use of the messaging service, but it will improve group conversations. The ability to "tag" your friends in group chats has been a part of WhatsApp for a while now, but until now there was a fundamental part missing: the notification that warned the user of being mentioned. L’annuncio della nuova funzionalità è stato dato dall’account Twitter WABetaInfo, sempre ben informato sulle novità che interessano l’applicazione di messaggistica istantanea. Per il momento le notifiche sono presenti solamente sulla versione beta di WhatsApp per Android, ma se la funzionalità verrà apprezzata dagli utenti farà il suo debutto anche nell’app ufficiale. Le notifiche permetteranno alle chat di gruppo di essere più ordinate e agli utenti di ritrovare un messaggio in cui sono stati taggati. The way it works is very simple: when you enter a group conversation, in case you have been tagged, a snail-shaped icon with a number will appear on the right side of the screen. That icon represents the fact that you have been mentioned in previous messages. If you press on the snail, all the messages in which you have been tagged will appear on the screen and you will be able to follow the thread of the conversation by replying to your friends.
Remember that to use this new feature you must have the beta version of WhatsApp for Android.
