No more embarrassment during Skype video calls. Thanks to a new feature, in fact, you can blur the background and no longer have to worry
For many it is a real nightmare: finding a "suitable" background to use during Skype video calls. Whether it's for a job interview, a video conference or a call with your parents while studying abroad, it doesn't matter: you often spend more time finding a suitable background than in front of the webcam for the video conference.
A problem, however, that Microsoft developers have tried to solve by taking advantage of artificial intelligence. With the latest update, in fact, has been implemented an automated system that blurs the background behind us while we are engaged in a call on Skype. A tool that replicates the operation of the portrait mode, which allows you to take photos with bokeh effect with iPhones and Android smartphones. In this way you'll no longer have to worry about finding a background suitable for the context of the video call: just activate the function before connecting and you're done.
How to make blurred background Skype video calls
First of all, you need to update Skype to the latest version, so as to be sure that the feature is also available for our account. If you have Skype for Windows 10 installed, open the Microsoft Store and check if there are any updates for the software: if so, download them and wait for them to be installed. When you're done, you can enable or disable the blurred background feature whenever you need it.
Don't know how to do it? That's easy. During the call, right-click on the camera icon and choose to activate the blurred background: after a few moments, the algorithms designed by Microsoft developers will recognize your figure and activate a blurred filter to the background. Alternatively, start a video call with any contact, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and open the Audio and Video Settings menu. In the window that pops up, click on the switch at Run background blur and you're done.
