The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be remembered not only because they will be the first to be played in winter: the second big news is that they will also be broadcast by Amazon in streaming.
Internet is the new place to watch the best soccer: after the assignment of the TV rights of the 2021-24 Serie A Championship to DAZN, now comes the news of the assignment to Amazon of the B2 package of the broadcasting rights of the 2021 World Cup in Qatar. The same Amazon, last December, had also been awarded the rights for the best matches of the Uefa Champions League for three seasons.
In addition to Amazon, RAI also won the bid to broadcast the World Cup, winning the B1 package. The next challenges for the World Cup, therefore, can be seen either on the channels of the State TV or on the Internet, with Amazon Prime Video.
On the State TV, therefore, the matches of the Azzurri and the most important matches of the world championship will be seen for free, while on Amazon it will be possible to see, for a fee, most of the other matches.
World Cup 2022: how to watch them
The matches broadcast by Rai can be seen on Digital Terrestrial Television, on Tivùsat and also in streaming on RaiPlay. The latter platform can be viewed both from a computer, via browser, and on smart TVs or media boxes and stick TVs connected to the Internet, via the RaiPlay app.
Matches broadcast by Amazon, however, will require a subscription and can be viewed either from mobile devices, via app, or from a computer, via browser, or finally from smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV and other smart stick/boxes via the Amazon Prime Video app.
