Amazon Prime Day is the two days of discounts and special timed offers on Jeff Bezos' e-commerce, which every year allows us to shop at great prices. Here's how it works and how to save
Amazon Prime Day is now upon us, to the happiness of all the loyal subscribers to the loyalty service. The event usually takes place during the summer, but this year Jeff Bezos' company has decided to postpone it because of Covid-19. The two-day event dedicated to incredible deals for all Amazon Prime customers will kick off in Italy at 00:01 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13 and will end at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14.
There will be strong discounts on all Amazon devices, such as the Alexa personal assistant and other smart home products. In addition, to support the restart of small and medium-sized businesses in the marketplace, if you spend €10 by October 12 on SMB products you will save €10 during Prime Day. Just like past years, in 2020 there will be thousands of offers and they will affect any type of product, from children's items, to home. Of course, there will be no shortage of electronic and technological devices, which usually have a high price but during Prime are heavily discounted. The company has already unveiled some of the many discounted products. But let's go in order and see what it is and how Prime Day works.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is now a regular event for the e-commerce giant. It was born as a day of "thanks" to all loyal customers, subscribers to the Prime service. In fact, the offers active in the days of Prime and marked with the special blue label are reserved only for subscribers to the program. So if you are not a Prime customer, you can't access the reported discounts.
Subscribing to Amazon Prime is very simple and most importantly includes 30 days of free use. This allows interested users to try the service and decide to confirm or unsubscribe at no cost. If you decide to continue, the system will charge the account the annual cost of 36 euros or monthly cost of 3.99 euros.
After signing up for Prime, the user gets access to numerous benefits: free shipping and within 24 hours of purchased items, access to Prime Video, Amazon Music, Prime Reading and much more.
And Prime Day is the icing on the cake: once a year all members have exclusive access to thousands of offers for 48 hours.
How does Prime Day work?
Taking advantage of Prime discounts is really simple. All subscribers to the service will simply have to put the discounted product in the cart and proceed with the purchase. But watch out for the duration: as we anticipated the initiative lasts only 48 hours.
In addition, some discounts are timed, that is, they are valid only for a day or a few hours. To catch them on the fly it is advisable to download the Amazon app and activate the notifications of the offers.
To do this just select the "Follow this offer" when you see an interesting product on the app. It will be a bit like having a mix between a personal assistant and a personal shopper next door.
Finally, those who have Alexa at home can directly rely on her with a voice command, asking her "Alexa what are my Prime Day deals?" At that point, the machine will indicate the most interesting discounted items for the customer.
