Since version 5.0, Android has included a feature called Smart Lock that allows you to keep your smartphone unlocked in situations where it is safe with you. This feature is based on the recognition of certain signals, allowing you to unlock your phone only once with the security systems you normally use, such as PIN, sequence or password.
Smart Lock, how to set it up on your Android

L’app ti chiederà di inserire il codice di sblocco che utilizzi normalmente, come il PIN, la sequenza o la tua password. Una volta inserito, si aprirà una schermata che spiega il funzionamento di Smart Lock e potrai cliccare su "Ok" per accedere alla funzione.
Le tre possibili opzioni per impostare lo sblocco dell’app in situazioni sicure sono tre:
- Dispositivo con te: Il dispositivo rimarrà sbloccato quando sarà a contatto con il tuo corpo. Quando attivi questa modalità, dopo il primo sblocco lo smartphone rimarrà sbloccato finché rileva movimento, ad esempio se lo tieni in tasca o in mano. Se invece lo appoggi su un tavolo o lo metti in borsa, il dispositivo si blocca nuovamente.
- Luoghi attendibili: il dispositivo rimane bloccato quando ti trovi in un luogo considerato attendibile o sicuro, come ad esempio a casa. Potrai quindi inserire manualmente l’indirizzo di un luogo attendibile, oppure selezionarlo da uno disponibile in quelli salvati tra i preferiti del tuo Google account. Per il corretto funzionamento, devi tenere attivato il GPS, ricordando però che la precisione della posizione non è garantita e i luoghi attendibili hanno un raggio massimo di 80 metri.
- Dispositivi attendibili: puoi aggiungere un dispositivo considerato attendibile, così che lo smartphone resti sbloccato quando il dispositivo è nelle vicinanze. Per utilizzare questa modalità è necessario attivare il Bluetooth, così che i dispositivi possano essere connessi tra loro. Per esempio, potresti impostarla con il tuo smartwatch oppure associarla al Bluetooth della tua auto. Una cosa da tenere presente, è che le connessioni Bluetooth hanno un raggio di azione massimo di 100 metri.
