Blackberry Motion, keyboardless smartphone with focus on security

The Canadian company after the launch of the official rendering is ready to release the new BlackBerry Motion on the market. A device without a physical keyboard

After a first glimpse through an official rendering, BlackBerry is ready to launch a new smartphone on the market. Unlike initial rumors that reported the name BlackBerry Kripton, the device will be called BlackBerry Motion. The design of the phone, however, has been confirmed.

The new BlackBerry Motion has a very sleek metal body. A Unlike many phones in recent months, the Canadian company's smartphone retains its bezels. Although the edges have been significantly reduced, especially at the top of the display where the bezel basically separates only the speaker and camera sensors with the screen. BlackBerry has made the device in collaboration with the Chinese company TLC. Despite some technical features and a design not exactly revolutionary, the strengths of the phone will be an IP67 protection and a battery that provides nearly 30 hours of use.

Name change

According to sources close to BlackBerry the name change, compared to initial rumors, was dictated only by a marketing reason. The company had thought of a name that would highlight the many security features on the phone. For this reason, the initial name was Krypton. A name, however, that did not excite. In the end, regardless of the name, the aspect to emphasize is that the BlackBerry Motion has a number of tools to improve the security and privacy of the user. And in keeping with the company's tradition, it's primarily focused on business and work use rather than leisure. It must be said, however, that it lacks the classic physical keyboard, which has set the standard in previous BlackBerrys and even in the recent KEYone. The keyboard has been replaced with a multifunctional Home button that has been made with the coat of arms of the Canadian company. On the new BlackBerry Motion we also find the 3.5mm headphone jack. A solution that many manufacturers lately are abandoning in favor of wireless headphones. Although the jack remains an alternative that users always appreciate.

Technical Features

As for the technical features on board the new BlackBerry Motion there will be the Snapdragon 625 chipset supported by 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. Excellent battery, as already mentioned, which will be from 4000mAh. The display, however, is 5.5-inch with 1920 x 1080 resolution and a pixel density of 402 ppi. The camera department consists of a 12-megapixel rear sensor with dual-tone flash and 4K video. While the front camera is 8-megapixel and has a software designed for selfies. The device also has a fingerprint scanner sensor. At the moment, the BlackBerry Motion is being distributed in the Middle Eastern market, especially in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. But it will soon be released in Europe as well. The price is close to 400 euros.
