Galaxy M40, what Samsung’s budget smartphone will look like

Samsung is ready to launch a new low-cost smartphone: the Galaxy M40. Here are the features and price of the device

After focusing its efforts on the Galaxy A range with a couple of new smartphones also launched in Italy, Samsung is ready to get back to work on the Galaxy M family. This is a new range of phones that made its debut at the beginning of the year and is characterized by an excellent value for money and a virtually infinite battery.

For the moment Samsung has launched on the market the Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M30. In Italy has arrived only the first model and can already be purchased. From the latest rumors published on the net, the South Korean company would be working on the third device in the range: the Galaxy M40. The device should have features very similar to some of the smartphones in the Galaxy A family. Reason why, the Galaxy M40 at first will be launched in developing countries such as India and only in a few months will also reach Italy and Europe.

Galaxy M40, technical characteristics

Little information has been leaked so far and outline the data sheet of the Galaxy M40 is not easy. Let's start with the processor. The smartphone should mount a chipset Exynos 7904 or Exynos 9610. In support we find 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The display should be very large: the diagonal will be at least 6.3 inches with FullHD+ resolution. The device will feature a small notch positioned in the center where the front camera will be inserted.

In the rear is placed a triple camera: the main sensor could be 48 Megapixels, while the secondary one will be dedicated to wide-angle shots. The third lens, however, will be used for shots with bokeh effect.

One of the features of the Galaxy M range is the battery that guarantees an autonomy of at least 2 days. The Galaxy M40 will also have a 5000mAh battery. There will also be a headphone jack.

Galaxy M40, price and release date

There is no official date yet: for the moment the Galaxy M40 has only been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance and we will have to wait a few more weeks/months before the official presentation. As mentioned above, the Galaxy M40 should be launched first in India and then arrive in Italy and Europe. The price of the Galaxy M40 is expected to be around 350-400 Euros.
