Here come Hero6 and Fusion 360, the new action cams from GoPro

The leading action cam company has unveiled its two new models, the Hero6 and Fusion360. The second is designed for panoramic photos and videos

GoPro doubles down. The U.S. company to confirm its leadership in the action cam market has officially launched the new Hero6 and Fusion360. The first one is the new model of the main series of GoPro, while the Fusion is designed to take photos and videos at 360.

The Fusion360 uses two lenses and can capture 5.2K video at 30 frames per second. Panoramic photos, on the other hand, have a resolution of 18 megapixels. The action cam is waterproof, but only up to 4.8 meters underwater. For deeper dives you can always use the appropriate GoPro case. Fusion has all the sensors typical of the Hero series such as GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, accelerometer and gyroscope. Very convenient also the voice control that allows us to switch from photo to video mode or shoot with a simple command of the voice.

Fusion 360

The action cams with 360-degree shooting in the past have been subjected to several criticisms. They are indeed devices that make interesting videos to watch with the help of a virtual reality viewer or to post on social media but are quite useless for those who love and practice extreme sports. GoPro has claimed to have solved this problem thanks to the system called OverCapture. Basically if we are doing an extreme sport we can edit the video in a classic 1080p shot, thus eliminating the 360 effect. Even the photos can be edited in postproduction to switch from panoramic to classic mode. Unfortunately, the editing function will arrive in the app dedicated to the action cam are in 2018, until then we will have to make changes manually. The Fusion360 will be available in November 2017 in stores and will have an introductory price of 749 euros.

Hero6

The new Hero 6 has the same sdesign as the previous model. From the outside, in fact, the GoPro action cam is virtually identical to the 5. The differences and improvements are all on the inside. The Hero6 captures 4K video at 60 frames per second. There's also 2.7K mode at 120fps and an almost impressive 1080p mode with 240fps. With the update, the camera has zoom right into the touch screen, so all it takes is a touch to focus on the details. GoPro also claimed to have equipped the Hero6 with machine learning so that stabilization errors are avoided in case of sudden and abrupt movements. Of course, the Hero6 is waterproof and has GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The Hero6 also has two new features to use if you own the GoPro Karma drone. These two new functions are called Watch and Follow. With the first, the drone will zoom in on a detail chosen from the camera's screen, while with Follow, the drone will automatically follow us. The Hero6 can already be purchased at a price of 569.99 euros.
