Mac: View CPU usage - here's how

If your PC suddenly slows down, it may be because your CPU is busy. You can then use the Mac's activity display to see the various processes and their effect on the CPU. If necessary, you can also terminate applications that you don't need.

How to view CPU usage on your Mac

It's especially worthwhile to keep an eye on CPU-heavy applications. If necessary, terminate unnecessary processes to lighten the load on your CPU. The Activity Viewer from your Mac will show the exact utilization of your CPU and the impact of each application. In addition, you can also view power consumption, disk activity and usage, and network activity.

1. To open the Activity Meter, first launch Spotlight by pressing CMD + Spacebar.
2. Then type "Activity Meter" in the text box and press Enter.
3. Then double-click to open the meter.
4. There are several tabs at the bottom. Klicken Sie hier auf „CPU“, um die Auslastung einsehen zu können.
