No Man's Sky: Ship classes explained - an overview

The ship - or maybe even several - is absolutely fundamental in No Man's Sky. Due to the theoretically infinite number, a look at the ship classes is important. Our guide shows the subdivisions.

The four ship classes are not the only aspect you need to consider when buying.

In No Man's Sky, your ship is not only your cab, but also your storage space.

No Man's Sky: Always consider ship classes and size

The ships are divided into four levels, regardless of type: C, B, A and S. You start with a C ship and among the main objectives is to get better and better ships. However, there is more to consider:
  • In addition to the classes, the ships are divided into sizes, namely small, medium and large.
  • This affects the storage space and is therefore a very important criterion. Again, you start with a small ship and can get larger ships only in the course of the game.
  • As a result, a large ship of the C-class can be worth significantly more than a small ship of the S-class.
Before a possible exchange, you should thus always compare all important points exactly, instead of referring only to the class specification. This gives a clue, but does not include the total value of the ship.
