All technical details of the nano SD card at a glance

With the launch of the Mate 20, Chinese manufacturer Huawei also introduced a new storage medium with the Nano Memory Card. The Nano SD card works just like other memory cards.
  • The main difference between the cards is the size. Measuring 12.3 x 8.8 x 0.67 mm, the nano SD card is about 45 percent smaller than a microSD card (15 x 11 x 0.7).
  • The read and write rate of the nano SD card is 90 megabytes, which is lower than the transfer speed of conventional microSD cards.
  • Huawei offers the nano SD cards in 64 gigabytes, 128 gigabytes or 256 gigabytes. Nano-SD cards with a larger storage capacity have not been available so far.
  • The memory card finds its place in the Huawei smartphones via hybrid slots. Alternatively, such a slot can also accommodate a nano-SIM card. Other manufacturers do not support the Huawei format now.
