DHL: File a complaint - here's how to do it right

If you have a problem with a package delivery, you can file a complaint with DHL. To do this, all you have to do is contact the parcel delivery company's customer service department by email, letter or phone. Note that you will need your tracking number or the name and address of the sender and recipient when doing so.

How can I file a complaint with DHL?

Daily DHL sends many packages and unwanted problems can occur. Have you received a package damaged, delayed or not at all, you have the option to file a complaint with DHL. In many cases, however, other steps are also useful, such as contacting the sender, who may not have sent the package off.If you want to file a complaint, contact DHL by phone, mail or e-mail.
  • You can reach the complaint hotline daily between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. by calling 0228 43 33 112.
  • If you want to complain about international express shipping, use 01806-3453003 instead. For national express shipping, on the other hand, dial 01806-3453001.
  • Note that you pay 20ct per call from a landline for the DHL service number. From the German mobile network, the call will cost you up to 60ct.
  • To submit a complaint to DHL by letter, send it to DHL Vertriebs GmbH, Customer Service, 22795 Hamburg.
  • On the Internet, call up the DHL help website and select the topic that concerns your problem. Depending on the concern, click there on the online contact form.
If you do not know where a package remains, use the shipment tracking of DHL. If the status does not change over six business days, you can request a review.
