iPhone: Announce calls - these options are available
The Siri voice assistant can help you with numerous tasks. For example, you can control various tasks of your apps by voice command. Since iOS 10, you can also have Siri announce calls. This can be especially useful if you are driving and want to know who is calling.
iPhone: How to have calls announced
With your iPhone, the voice assistant Siri is available for various tasks. In addition, you can use the "Announce calls" function for some time. With this, it is possible, for example, to have Siri announce who is calling you while you are driving. This function is usually deactivated by default. If you still want to use it, you can set it up in a few steps.- Open the "Settings" app on the iPhone.
- Then select the "Phone" option.
- Here you will now find the item "Announce calls!". Tap on it.
- You can choose between three different options. "Always" describes that Siri will announce to you all calls with the full name from your contacts - regardless of the situation you are in.
- If you select "Headphones and car", then the call will only be announced to you if your iPhone is connected to your car via Bluetooth or you have headphones connected.
- The last option is "Headphones only", where you will be notified when you are wearing headphones. Otherwise, the function is disabled.
