iPhone X: Block anonymous calls - here's how

You can easily block calls from unsuppressed numbers on your iPhone X. However, if you receive unwanted calls from anonymous numbers, it doesn't work that easily. Namely, iOS doesn't offer any option for this by default. However, there is a trick you can use to prevent the calls anyway.

Blocking unknown calls - here's how to do it

To block unknown calls or forward them directly to voicemail, you can use the "Do not disturb" feature. If you set this correctly, the feature acts as a filter and allows only calls from your contacts.
  1. Start the "Settings" app and tap in the overview on "Do not disturb".
  2. Enable the function and also set the menu item "Mute" the check mark "Always".
  3. Tap then on "Allow calls from".
  4. Select there in "Groups" the item "All contacts". So you ensure that you continue to receive calls from known numbers.
  5. Finally, close the settings.
Next to the battery and GPRS indicator is now a half-moon icon. If the icon is there, you know that the "Do Not Disturb" mode is active.

Block call numbers

If the call number is not anonymous, you can also block it in the phone app of your iPhone X. To do this, call up your "Call history" and tap the info icon to the right of the number. Then scroll all the way down, there you will find the "Block caller" function.
