Spotify: Create a shared playlist - how to do it?

With Spotify you can listen to music almost without limits. Have you created a new playlist, you can share the music. But if you want your friends to be able to contribute to the playlist as well, it's best to create a shared Spotify playlist.

How to create a shared playlist on Spotify

It doesn't matter if you're currently using the app or the desktop version of Spotify to create a shared Spotify playlist. Shared playlists are especially useful, for example, if you're planning a larger celebration where different music tastes should be taken into account.
  1. First, you need to create a Spotify playlist in the usual way. It is irrelevant whether you expand or rearrange an existing playlist or whether you create an entirely new playlist.
  2. With the right mouse button, click the selected playlist now. A drop-down menu will appear. One of the options is "Shared Playlist". This you click on. In the Spotify app, on the other hand, tap the three dots in the top right corner of the playlist and select "Share as "Shared"".
  3. After that, you still have to share the playlist with the people who should have access to it. This works for example via Facebook or simply via a link that you can send via chat or even by mail.
  4. The members can then add or remove songs or change the order of the song order in the playlist.
Not only when planning a larger party, a shared playlist is useful. Also in everyday life, when you want to share new favorite songs with your friends, a shared Spotify playlist is useful. Not only when planning a larger party, a shared playlist is useful.
